Punjab Government’s Livestock Card Scheme – A New Path to Prosperity for Small Farmers
Under the Export Support Campaign of the Chief Minister of Punjab, the Livestock Department has taken a revolutionary step by introducing the “CM Punjab Livestock Card 2025” scheme. The main objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to small livestock farmers of Punjab in the form of animal feed, so that they can play an effective role in the country’s exports by increasing meat production. Salient features of the program (first cycle)
CM Punjab Livestock Card 2025
Sponsorship:
- The program is sponsored by the Livestock Department, Government of Punjab.
Program Scope:
- Initially, 80,000 livestock cards will be issued.
Financial Limit:
- A total loan of Rs. 10.8 billion will be provided under this project.
Number of Animals:
- Finance will be provided to 400,000 animals in three cycles.
Duration:
- The first cycle will be completed from the fourth quarter of 2024 to the third quarter of 2025.
Nature of Loan
CM Punjab Livestock Card 2025
- This is an Unsecured Clean Facility loan scheme.
- It will be provided only for the purchase of animal feed (Vanda, Silage and Mineral Mixture).
- The farmers will be given money at 0% interest rate on the loan.
Criteria for eligible farmers
CM Punjab Livestock Card 2025
- Must own a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 10 male calves or young cattle (cow or buffalo).
- Loan will be given at the rate of Rs. 27,000 per animal.
- Registration with the Livestock Department is mandatory.
- Farmer’s National Identity Card (CNIC), mobile number verified by PMD and NADRA VeriSec are required.
- Must not be a defaulter in previous loans (verification will be done from the Verification Bureau).
- All farmers of Punjab can apply for this scheme.
- If a farmer’s name appears on the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) list, he will be disqualified.
- In case of delay or default in loan repayment, disqualification for the next cycle.
Age Limit
- Minimum age is 18 years. There is no upper age limit.
Loan Tenure
- A maximum loan tenure of 4 months will be given, which will include a grace period of 1 month.
Price and Charges
- Financing Price for Bank of Punjab (BOP): 6 months KIBOR + 3.5%
- Card Issuance Fee: Rs. 100 per animal (this amount will be deducted from the loan).
Loss Guarantee

- The scheme includes a 30% first credit loss guarantee, which will provide protection to lending institutions.
