As you know, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif is launching several schemes and programs across Punjab for the development and prosperity of Punjab and the betterment and progress of the people of Punjab. Similarly, on February 19, 2025, the Chief Minister Punjab launched a free electric bus service in Lahore, which aims to provide travel facilities to students and senior citizens in Lahore and save them from travel difficulties for the Free electric bus service,
In addition, students and senior citizens will be provided free travel facilities with the free electric bus service of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif. The Free electric bus service program aims to provide environment-friendly travel facilities to the citizens and after the launch of the electric bus service, it has been designed to strengthen further the province’s commitment to combat climate change and promote modern urban transport.

CM Punjab Inspects Electric Bus Stop & Interacts with Public
The Punjab Chief Minister inspected the electric bus stop and interacted with the public. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has expressed her determination to build a special bus stop for Free electric bus service, which the Punjab Chief Minister herself explained and spoke to the public. The Punjab Chief Minister has expressed her determination to create a good place for people to wait and install water coolers and fans at the bus stop. In addition, a mini canteen will also be set up at the electric bus stop so that passengers can get small food items. The Punjab Chief Minister spoke to the women at the IBA bus stop.

500 more electric buses announced
To expand the initiative, the Punjab government has announced that 500 additional electric buses will be added. These buses will cover important educational institutions, hospitals, and major city centers, ensuring better connectivity for students and senior citizens.
Provincial Transport Minister Bilal Akbar apprised that the electric bus service is just the beginning, 500 more buses will be introduced for public service.
